The Impeditor app was born out of curiosity. I had some unplanned free time, a few unused robotics parts lying around and some curiosity about the WiFi deauthentication. It was enough to start a new project and so I did!
After reading and watching some videos about it, I considered it's a great educational subject and a good match for my next project. I wanted to try vibecoding and it looked like a perfect match.
The WiFi deauthentication is a very useful educational subject (almost all the devices on the planet are susceptible to the deauth attack) and building the app was above my current skill level, but reachable. So it would be a perfect time to also try the vibecoding with my new AI friend(s).
After trying different subjects and methods, I chose Claude as my main friend to do this task. Sometimes I used Grok for checks and secondary tasks, but by far Claude is the easiest and best to use, ofc that's my opinion.
The hardware parts I needed for this project:
1. Android phone
2. USB OTG cable
3. ESP8266 D1 mini (~ 2.5$ price)
The (free) software I used to build the project:
Arduino IDE
Android Studio
and Claude.ai
I used the free version of Claude to see if it is possible to build apps for free. It is!
The Impeditor app is not available to the public.
Get it here.
Check the screenshots and the video below and leave a comment with your thoughts about the app.
Thanks to Spacehuhn for their work on the ESP8266 firmware that made this project possible !!!
